includes historical genealogical information from Houlton, Maine
(USA) and its surrounding communities in the Southern Aroostook
County area.

- Colonial
Massachusetts and Maine Genealogies. Each of these
genealogical lines trace their roots from the British Isles to
Colonial Massachusetts, arriving during the 1600s. They settled
in towns like Barnstable, Dedham, Duxbury, Lexington, Lynn,
Marshfield, Salem, Salisbury, and Watertown. Many of these
families continued north to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont
during the early 1700s. This site lists genealogical information
about over 10,000 individuals.
- 1837 Maine State Census. The original name lists for
Bangor, Portland, and most towns, townships, and plantations are
at the Maine State Archives in Augusta. The originals for the
town of Eliot, York County, are at the Maine Historical Society
in Portland. None have been microfilmed. For information on

million pages of official State records considered to be
permanently valuable. The earliest dates from 1639.
