- Cheyenne
Genealogy. Cheyenne Genealogy is one of our two
main areas of research. Today the tribe is divided into
two bands. The Southern Cheyenne in Oklahoma and the
Northern Cheyenne in Montana. Our research is primarily
with the Northern band but we do have information about
various families in the Southern band. Currently we have
over 8,000 Cheyenne's in our data set.

Western States Marriage Record Index. For more than
two decades, the BYU-Idaho (formerly known as Ricks
College) Arthur Porter Special Collections area in
Rexburg, Idaho has been extracting early marriage
records from counties in the western part of the United
States. Virtually all of the pre-1900 marriages are
included in the index for Arizona , Idaho and Nevada .
Many counties for those same states have been extracted
into the 1930's and some, much later. A significant
number of marriages from selected counties in California
, western Colorado , Montana , Oregon , Utah , eastern
Washington , and Wyoming are also included.
