- Organization: Anhalt is made up of two large areas and five enclaves: Alsleben, Dornburg, Gödnitz, Mühlingen, and Tilkerode-Abberode.
- Settlement: Most of the earlier settlers to this area were Dutch and Flemish colonists, who were invited by the archbishop of Magdeburg.
