  • Erber, Audrey. Norwegian Family Histories, 1585-1850: A Peek at the Lives of the Ancestors of Our Families Who Settled in Columbia County, Dane County, and Green County, Wisconsin, in the 19th Century. Oak Park, Ill: Audrey Erber, 2004.

  • Farrell, James. Journals, 1984-1869, 2004. Original and typed transcripts of journals kept by James Farrell, a Dane County (Wis.) resident, consisting of brief entries with accounts of the weather, planting and selling of crops, livestock, and farm maintenance. Farrell also discusses his business dealings in Madison, Sauk, and Black Earth as well as short descriptions of his travels to Detroit, Chicago, and Canada. Also included is a liturgy with a short family history and a schedule for the Farrell family reunion, August 15, 2004.
  • Knapp, George Nelson. Writings, 1940-1947. An autobiography and other writings by George Nelson Knapp, a farmer and geologist who was born in Wisconsin and lived and worked in New Jersey, Minnesota, Montana, and Alabama. Included is a genealogy of Knapp's mother's family, the descendants of George Henry Brereton, an Irish immigrant who settled in Dane County, Wisconsin, in 1852; genealogical information on the Bower and Knapp families; and a biography of  An autobiography and other writings by George Nelson Knapp, a farmer and geologist who was born in Wisconsin and lived and worked in New Jersey, Minnesota, Montana, and Alabama. Included is a genealogy of Knapp's mother's family, the descendants of George Henry Brereton, an Irish immigrant who settled in Dane County, Wisconsin, in 1852; genealogical information on the Bower and Knapp families; and a biography of relative Charles Walter Hart, a pioneer in the development of the internal combustion engine for farm use and of the gas tractor in Iowa and later a leader in the oil refining industry in Montana.
